LimutWoman’s Shoulder Cloth
The Helong ethnic group of Kupang in West Timor were the original inhabitants of this area until the settlement of outsiders from Roti and Savu during the Dutch period. The remaining members resettled on the island off Kupang from Semau. This single panel shoulder scarf called Limut would be worn by women as part of traditional dress.
Warp ikat, single panel, braided fringe, commercial cotton, natural dyes.
