Beit Ana is a narrow single panel textile used as a shoulder cloth by women for ceremonies and special occasions. The textiles of Miomafo area in West Timor are known for their indigo work with intricate ikat. Motifs used include ma’kaif, atoni, beso and noa no’oMa’kaif ana means small hook pattern and symbolizes interconnection.

This pattern is very old in Timor and is most likely derived from the Dong Song period when goods from south China (then Vietnam) were traded in Timor for Sandalwood. The motif symbolizes the interconnectedness between clans and families.
